In this photo, you can see the “spikes” that were originally used to install the eavestrough — a common but outdated installation method. Typically, these spikes are spaced three to four feet apart, which leaves the trough only loosely secured. Over time, the weight of shingle debris, snow, and ice can cause the spikes to loosen and pull away from the fascia board.To properly address this, we hammer the existing spikes back into place and add new hidden hangers between each one. This reinforcement ensures the eavestrough is fully secured and capable of handling seasonal stress.
